This past weekend two Sitan Gym athletes, Shamik Hayes and Tyrell Joshway, competed at the Glendale Civic Center for Samurai Soul Championship 11. These were huge fights for both athletes, who each put on a stunning performance. Tyrell Joshway fought and defeated Eric Watts for the WBC 175 pound light heavyweight Southwest Regional Title, via TKO in the 4th round after landing some damaging hands.
Shamik Hayes took on Steven Lobiondo for a rematch to defend the WBC Muay Thai 126 pound Featherweight National title and belt. After dominating the first 2 rounds, the doctor stopped the fight as Shamik got a nasty cut following an accidental headbutt. We look forward to a 3rd rematch to settle the score and for Shamik to win his belt back. We’re tremendously proud of the hard work and skill displayed by our fighters after a tough camp and impressive show.
